(5) John Winchester. He was born on 17 April 1676 in Muddy River now Brookline, Massachusetts. He died on Tuesday 21 September 1751 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He died intestate, and administration was granted to his son Isaac Winchester, of Brookline 15 Oct., 1751. The inventory of his estate was taken 17 Dec, 1751, and amounted to £1383 1s. 3d. An interesting inventory, including one hundred and sixty acres of land valued at £1015 13s. 4d. ; house, barn and other buildings £133 6s. 8d. ; the usual appurtenances of a farm, with silver, pewter and brass ware, and also two negroes valued at £00. A commission was appointed to make division of the estate, and set off to the widow Alice her thirds as dower. |
