  • Name Owain ap Hywel
History In 948, he became the Prince of South Wales.

From 949 to 950, Jevaf and Iago fought against Owain and his brothers.

Owain fought the battle of Aber Conway in Gwynedd in 952. The battle was a draw with major losses on both sides.

In 953, the princes of Gwynedd (Javaf and Iago) again invaded Cardigan, and were driven back by Owain and his surviving brothers. In the end, Owain's youngest brother, Eineon, relinquished the Kingdom to Javaf and Iago.

In 958, Owain took lands from Morgan Mawr, the Prince of Glamorgan, but King Edgar of England forced him to return it.

In 962, Owain paid a tribute of wolf heads to King Edgar of England.  [1
