He was involved in the killing of some Indians and showing his hatred to some friendly Indians during King Philip's War along with Daniel Hoar. They were released by the General Court upon payment of £20 to each of the Indians involved. |

- He was killed by Indians. During Queen Anne's War, he was the commander of a garrison house and was shot in the thigh by Indians near that house in the attack of 30 July 1704. He soon died of the wound.
