     George Stahlnecker Frederick was born on 1 July 1874 at Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of James P. Frederick and Julia Stahlnecker. George, age 5, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at East Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, James P. and Julia Frederick.6 George, age 26, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, James P. and Julia Frederick. He was a teacher.2

George Stahlnecker Frederick, age 30, married Maria Anna Oakes, age 26 , daughter of James Bruce Oakes and Rachel Anne Beard, on 13 April 1905 at the Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.

George, age 35 years, and Maria Oakes, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at White Deer Township, Union County, Pennsylvania.7 According to the Federal Census in 1910, George was a farmer.7 On 12 September 1918, George registered for the World War I draft, while living at Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 44 and he was self employed as a farmer.5 George, age 45 years, and Maria Oakes, age 41 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.8 According to the Federal Census in 1920, George was a farmer.8 George, age 55 years, and Maria Oakes, age 51 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.10 According to the Federal Census in 1930, George was a farmer.10

George married second between 1931 and 1939 Roda A. ______. She was born about 1875 in Pennsylvania.11 George, age 65 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, with his second wife, Roda.11 He died on 3 April 1944at the home of his daughter on 702 Elm Street, Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, at age 69 from acute cardiac dilatation.3,12 George's obituary of 4 April 1944, reads:

George S. Frederick, 69, prominently known Watsontown resident, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Palph Middleton, Watsontown, R. after an illness of three months. Although Mc. Frederick had been in failing health, his condition did not become serious until a week ago.

Mr. Frederick, a farmer all his life, in the Watsontown area, had lived with his daughter approximately two years. He was a lifelong member John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Turpotville, having served with the church consistory for 30 years, and as Sunday School Superintendent for 28 years. He was also secretary of the Watsontown I. O. 0.F. Lodge for 15 years

Surviving Mr. Frederick are his wife, Rhoda Frederick, and the following children; James W., Watsontown R. D. 1; Mrs. Middleston, with whom he made his home, Watsontown, R. D. 2; Pfc. Bruce O., Camp Coswell, N. M; Mrs. Elmer Buck, Montgomery; Cpl. George A., stationed in England; four grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Phil- lip A. Frederick, Castanea, Pa; and Mrs. Clyde Miller, Millersburg.

Funeral services will be held at the Paul S. Grither funeral home, Turbotville, Friday at 3:15 p. m., with Rev. Carl Smith, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating Burial will be in McEwensville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening between 7 and 9 o'ciock.
