     Ada Leona Copeland was born on 21 July 1867 at Wolcott, Wayne County, New York.1,2 She was the daughter of John Weir Copeland and Floretta A. Russell. Ada Leona Copeland, age 20, married Stephen Cooper Gladwin, age 23 , son of Francis Gladwin and Sarah Jane Cooper, on 12 October 1887 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Their wedding announcement in the newspaper reads:

Robertson, of 247 Ferry Steet, Cleveland, for the marriage of their daughter Ada Leona Copeland, today, at 8 o'clock, to Stephen Cooper Gladwin, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fiancis Gladwin, of Voris Street, Akron. For some time past "Steven has been making head quarters at Cleveland where he has been doing a splendid business. As a sculptor he has but few equals, though yet young and the future for this Akronian is unusually brilliant. About twenty of Mr. Gladwin's intimate friends from here besides members of his family will witness the ceremony. That Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Gladwin may forever enjoy happiness and success is the wish of his multitude of friends. The Times extends congratulations.1,5,6,7
