     Samuel Eddy was born on 4 June 1668 at Watertown, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Samuel Eddy and Sarah Meade. He was a drummer-boy whom the Town of Watertown refused to pay in 1684.4

Samuel Eddy, age 25, married Elizabeth Woodward, age 29 , daughter of George Woodward and Elizabeth Hammond c 1633/34, on 7 December 1693 at Watertown, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4,6,7 Samuel and Elizabeth joined the Watertown Church on 12 December 1697.1,7 From a deed recorded in 1700, we learn that he was a cordwainer [shoemaker], like his father, and that he had some education since he was able to write his name.4 Samuel Eddy was ordered and reimbursed by the town to keep James Holland, one of the town's poor in 1717.4 Samuel Eddy was listed as a proprietor on 14 January 1714/15 at Watertown, Massachusetts, who are in possession of the first granted house lots.4 Between 1719 and 1722 he was the Sealer of Leather for the Town of Watertown.4 He died on 6 August 1746 at Oxford, Massachusetts, at age 78.2,4,5,8
