Captian Joseph Edgerton was born on 17 January 1696/97 at Norwich, Connecticut.1,2,3 He was the son of Richard Edgerton and Elizabeth Scudder.
Captian Joseph Edgerton, age 25, married Elizabeth Haskins, daughter of Richard Haskins and Mary Tisdale, on 10 December 1722 at Norwich, Connecticut.1 Joseph and Elizabeth owned covenant at the First Congregational Church, Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, on 6 June 1725.2 Captian Joseph Edgerton died between 21 February 1760 and 29 March 1773 at at sea while in command of the sloop Olive.1
