     Elizabeth Beckwith was born on 4 February 1678 at Lyme, Connecticut.1,2,3,4,5,6 She was the daughter of Matthew Beckwith and Elizabeth Griswold. Elizabeth Beckwith was christened on 18 May 1679 at Lyme, Connecticut.6

Elizabeth Beckwith, age 19, married James Birchard, age 31 , son of John Birchard and Christian Andrews, on 17 March 1696/97 at Norwich, Connecticut.7,1,3,6,5,8 Elizabeth Beckwith was mentioned in the will of Matthew Beckwith.9 Elizabeth Beckwith died on 13 December 1767 at Norwich, Connecticut, at age 89.10,2 She was buried at Old Hanover Cemetery, Hanover, Connecticut. Elizabeth's epitaph reads:

Here lies ye Body of
Mrs Elisabeth Wife
to Mr James Birchard
Who Died Decmr 15th
1767 Age 80 years
& 11 Months.2
