     Rurik , Prince of Novgorod was the son of Halfdan , Margrave of Frisia. He was a Danish Viking from Frisia, Jutland.1

Rurik , Prince of Novgorod married Alfrind.2 He relapsed into paganism and was expelled from Frisia after 855.2,1 Circa 860, he led a group of Vikings into Russia and seized control of Western Russia.1 Rurik , Prince of Novgorod died in 879.2,3,1
