H.R. Regina Elisabeth, uxor regis Adefonsi, filia Benabet Regis Sevillae, quae prius Zayda, fuit vocata
("Queen Isabel, wife of King Alfonso, daughter of Aben-abeth, king of Seville; previously called Zayda.")

A second inscription memorializes Queen Isabel, making her daughter of Louis, King of France, although there was no French king named Louis in the generation prior to Queen Isabel. Neither memorial is contemporary and neither is generally viewed as credible.

461 Immigration: There is a passenger list with the names of Bryon and his son Thomas arriving in New York City, bound for Pennsylvania on the Sea of New York. Upon close inspection, both are listed as dying at sea. Gaughan, Thomas (I9817)

462 Immigration: The date in the record is 1633, however Anderson (2003) uses 1635 because of the dates placement. I have chosen to use 1633. Graves, John (I299)

463 King in Russia: In the early middle ages, the land known to-day as Russia was composed of several small city states, and it is to be imagined that Radbard established himself as “king” of one of these cities. However, historical evidence indicates that Scandinavians such as Radbard journeyed to Russia circa 850, and certainly no earlier that 800. It is difficult to reconcile this fact with the concept that Radbard’s great X2 grandson is said to be the historical figure Ivar “the Boneless” Ragnarsson, who became King of Dublin in 856. Ráðbarðr King of Gardarike (I4478)

464 Maiden Name: Jameson (1886) and Williams (1890) say her maiden name was Williams, which is in error. The error was show by Ware (1886). Pidge, Mary (I446)

John "The Apostle to the Indians" Eliot / Ann Mumford (Mountfort) (F8178)

488 Marriage Date: While the registration gives the date 28 June 1897, both Chassion (1986) and Thériault (1985) give the date as 13 July 1897. The registration was filed after the fact by the parish priest and he simply made a mistake. The marriage records of he parish state 13 July 1897. I have chosen the date on the Parish Record. Family: Augustin Légère / Geneviève Godin (F947)

493 Marriage: Boniface is sometimes said to have married Alice of Savoy, the daughter of Peter of Savoy. This is unlikely, however, since Boniface and Alice were first-cousins-once-removed (Boniface's mother Bertha and Alice's grandmother Adelaide were sisters), and thus far too closely related to be permitted to marry according to canon law.  del Vasto, Boniface Margrave of Savona and Western Liguria (I7325)

494 Marriage: David's first marriage to Elizabeth is very questionable and was probably a scribal error.  Stone, David (I16144)

495 Marriage: Hill (1887) incorrectly gives Elizabeth's name as Elizabeth Carpenter. Wheaton, John (I20850)

496 Marriage: Historians believed Arnulf was married to Judith of Friuli, a member of the Unruoching dynasty, daughter of Count Eberhard of Friuli (d. 866). The dates, however, do not match up. Judith of Friuli died ca. 881. This would have made a marriage between a boy (or at least young) Arnulf and an elder Judith, who was supposed to have produced several children 23 years or so after her death. More likely, therefore, is that he was married to Judith of Sülichgau (born ca. 888), daughter of Margrave Eberhard's grandson Count Eberhard of Sülichgau (d. after 889) and Gisela of Verona.  Family: Arnulf I "the Bad", Duke of Bavaria / Judith of Sülichgau (F3314)

497 Marriage: It is probable that Thomas never married. Savage stated that he married Martha Knott based on George Knott's will, and many others have followed suit. The will states that they were not married at that time. Further, the the Plymouth Colony Record on 4 October 1648, state "The Court have ordered, concerning Thomas Dunham, that hee abstaine from coming atte or sending unto Martha Knote of Sandwiche from this present day unti the first Tuesdayof Desember next, untell the court can better deserne the treuth of his pretended contracte with the said Martha Knot, unless the Gouvrner, uppon clearing of thinges, shall give him leave." Two years later, Thomas Tobye and Martay Knott were married on the 18 November 1650. Dunham, Thomas (I18303)

498 Marriage: This marriage is supposed. Richard may not have been the husband of Christian. There is circumstantial evidence that he is, however the only provable point is that Christian was the mother of Nicholas. Family: Richard Clap / Christian (F178)

499 Marriages: The question of whether Thomas Doty had one wife or two, has been a matter of conjecture for many years. An examination of all the many court documents proves that Thomas Doty had only one wife, Mary Churchill. Family: Thomas Doty / Mary Churchill (F1865)

500 Mistake: Farmer (1829) has him a representative six years after his death. This refers to his son.  Houghton, John (I351)
