  According to LaForest (1984) On this n this 22 May 1651, at Tourouvre, Francoise Le Houx, living at la Ventrouze, daughter of Jacques, listened to the reading of her contract of indenture for the ”Quanadas.” (Canada). She was promising to devote herself to the service of "me Jean fuchereau sieur de More living at Québec...for five years time...this Work was for...the sum of thirty Iivres tournois for each year,” without counting a pair of shoes and the expenses of the voyage.

  Again according to LaForest (1984) the journal des ]e’suites reported the arrival of 4 ships at Quebec [1651]. The last 3, coming from La Rochelle, were: the Saint-Joseph, with a capacity of 350 tons, having on board the governor Monsieur de Lauzon, Ia Vierge and an unnamed Dutch ship. They arrived together at Québec on 13 October 1651. The first ship "dit Ie Saint-fean," perhaps with the Le Houx daughter aboard, berthed at the quay of the capital of New France on 18 August 1651. It must have come from the port of Dieppe or Honfleur. She came to join her father who have lived in New France for more than three years.
