  Paul' Whelpley's Rites Planned On Wednesday GUN BARREL CITY Memorial services for H.E. "Paul" Whelpley, 77, Gun Barrel City, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Gun Barrel City, with the Rev. Andrew Melel officiating under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Mabank. Mr. Whelpley died Nov. 20 in Athens. He was born July 20, 1921, in Northfield, Vt., to the late Edward Horace and Evelyn Grace Seymore Whelpley. He formerly lived in Naperville, Ill., and was a resident of Gun Barrel City for 13 years. He was *a Catholic. He retired in 1985 from Research Products, Washington Bankand Trust in Naperville, Ill. He also was a member of Cedar Creek Country Club, where he served on the board of directors. He was an active member of the Gun Barrel City government and on board of directors of Western Golf Association and Lone Star Seniors Golf Association. He served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Grace Whelpley, Gun Barrel City; sons, Barry Whelpley, Mounds View, Minn., and Dr. Whelpley, Carrollton; daughter, Robin Patterson, Parker, Colo.: brothers, Howard Whelpley and Richard Whelpley, both of Athol, Mass., Lee Whelpley, California, and Rance Whelpley, Webster; sisters, Louise Whelpley, Boston, Mass., and Elaine Kolinski, Stoughton, Mass.; and several other relatives. The bride, who approached the altar with her father, a navy blue suit with navy accessories and a corsage of orchids. Her attendant wore a gold suit with brown accents and a corsage of Talisman roses and blue iris. Robert Leo Barry, brother of the bride, was the best man. Mrs. Barry, mother of the bride, wore a gold colored dress and a corsage of Talisman roses. A wedding breakfast was served at the home of bride's parents.
