Dorothy Irene (Burnett) Hutson, 95, of Lakeland, Florida, and formerly of Rockville and Enfield, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
Born March 3, 1921, in Northampton, Massachusetts, to Murvil and Irene (Eddy) Burnett, she was the loving wife of the late Daniel D. Hutson Sr. for 58 years. A longtime Connecticut resident, she retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after many years of service. She enjoyed the Red Sox, cooking, bowling, shopping, and reading. She was proud to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, was an active member of the Vernon and Lakeland congregations, and read the Bible daily.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita M. (Hutson) Drake and her husband, Wesley, of Lakeland; and her son, Daniel D. Hutson Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Andover. She was the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves her sisters, Beverly O'Brien, of Massachusetts, and Vera Starkey and Irene Gernon, of California; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Clifford G. Hutson Sr.; her sisters, Bessie Freeman and Marguerite DeLonge; and her brother, Murvil Burnett.
Funeral services will be private.
