Marguerite M. Riopelle DeLonge
1928 - 2010
CHICOPEE - Marguerite M. (Burnett) Riopelle DeLonge, age 82, was called safely home on July 8, 2010. She was born on June 24, 1928 in Northampton, MA. Her parents were the late Murvil and Irene (Eddy) Burnett. She was a communicant of St Christopher Church. She worked as a nurse at Mt Marie Sisters of St Joseph for many years before she retired. She was a member of the Eagles Post 404 of Chicopee, she was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Post 452 and also a member of the PNA. Marguerite was an avid Red Sox fan and also had a love for owls. She is predeceased by her first husband Alfred J. Riopelle who passed away over 40 years ago and also by her second husband Wallace DeLonge of Chicopee. She leaves her sons Alfred Riopelle and his wife Pauline of East Longmeadow, Edward Riopelle and his wife Susie of FL, Lewis Riopelle and his companion Donna Mainville of Chicopee, MA and Norman DeLonge and his wife Pauline of Westfield, MA. She leaves her daughters Marion Dow and her husband Stephen of FL, Judy Bennett and her companion Elton Taylor of AZ and Cindy DeLonge of Chicopee, MA. She is predeceased by her brother Murvil Burnett and her sister Bessie Freeman. She leaves her sisters Dorothy Hudson of FL, Beverly O'Brien of Athol, MA, Vera Starky of CA and Irene Gurnon of CA. She also leaves her 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A grave side memorial service will be held on Sat. July 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Erving Center Cemetery, Mountain Rd, Erving, MA. The Grise Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. |

The double ring service was used by Rev. Dr. Edwin B.Robinson when he officiated at the marriage this afternoon in Grace church of Miss Marguerite Marie Burnett, daughter of Murvil Fran- | cis Burnett of Oak St., to Alfred Robert Riopelle, son of Mrs. Myrtle Riopelle of Cabot St. The wedding marches were played by the church organist, Alvah Redman.
Attendants of the bride were Mrs. Ann Prucell of South Hadley Falls and Miss Doris M.
Simoneau of Northampton. Edward D. Pru cell was best man for Mr. Riopelle and te usher was Murvil F. Burnett, Jr.
The bride's gown, en train, was of corded taffeta with pearl trim with a coronet. She carried aand her veil, was held in place| roses and sweet peas centered with an orchid. Mrs. Prucell's pink taf feta gown was worn with a tiara to match. Miss Simoneau was in pale blue taffeta, with tiara in like color, and both ha matching bouquets of roses and sweet peas.
A home reception for 200 follow ed the ceremony. The bride's mother wore a green crepe gown with floral top and Mrs. Riopelle wore black and coral crepe. Their corsages were of gardenias and roses.
When Mr. and Mrs. Riopelle return from their wedding trip, to Maine, their home will be 117 Cabot St.
The bride was born in Northampton ,attended school here, and has been employed at the Joseph Equi store in Dwight St. Mr. Riopelle was born Montpelier, Vt., attended school in Hawley and was graduated from Charlemont High school. He served overseas with 290th Bombardment Group of the Eighth Air Force for over two years. He works for the Sheldon Transfer and Storage Co. -CO Charles Miller, violinist, has returned York city after.
