He obituary also said that "She served a term as president of the Ohio State Nurses Association and was chairman of the private nurses section of the American Nurses Association. Part of Miss Gladwin's career was spent working in private practice and in hospitals in Cleveland. Miss Gladwin also lobbied for the Nurses Practice Act which her sister helped draft. They convinced legislators of the need for state standards for nurses." |
