  He was with Captain Turner and his band when they supersized the Indians at what is now Turner's Falls and attacked them, killing many, and hurling their bodies into the river. The scattered Indians regrouped and counter attacked, killing Captain Turner and 38 of his men. Capain Turner's body was found at the foot of the falls later named for him.
