| According to her obituary, she "worked at the former Minute Tapioca Co. several years and also was a bookkeeper at Chamberlain's Hardware. Mrs. Stone was an accomplished pianist and organist and was organist for several years at the Community Church of North Orange and Tully. She was an avid gardener, well-known in the area for her rock gardens. She was a lifelong member of the First Universalist Church in Orange and served as chairman of the church fairs for many years. She later organized the "La Petite" flower shows which were held at the church for many years. She also made quilts and braided rugs for various church projects. She was a past president of the Orange Women's Club and was instrumental in forming the Garden Clubdivision of the Women's Club. She was inducted into the Clara Barton Sisterhood of the Universalist-Unitarian Women's Federation in 1979." |
