Albert M. Sahr, a resident of Canonsburg for the past 14 years and well known in local church and fraternal circles, died at the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh, this morning at 7 o'clock. Death followed illness extending over the past several months, which began with two attacks of pneumonia.
A son of Albert and Margaret Meridian Sahr, the deceased was born in Etna, Pittsburgh, Jauuary 16, 1900. He was a brakeman and conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad for 25 years and was also engaged as a part time insurance man. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Chapter 675, Pittsburgh; also held membership in Chartiers Lodge, 297, Free and Accepted Masons, Canonsburg; the New Castle Consistory, the Mystic Shrine, Pittsburgh, and Canon Lodge, 204, Knights of Pythias. He was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris O'Neil Sahr, Orchard avenue, and eight brothers and sisters; Adam Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Louise Tate and Frank Sahr, North Hollywood, Calif.; Louis Sahr, Mrs. Catherine Sigmund, Mrs. Gertrude Hanley and Mrs. Loretta Nusser. Pittsburgh: and Mrs. Marie Love, Beaver, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p. m., at the McNary Funeral home in charge of the Rev, William McLean of the St. Thomas Episcopal church Friends will he received at the funeral home this evening. Interment will be in Oak Spring cemetery.
