• Notes

  Second Marriage and Death: Much more research needs to be done on this family. Compounding the issues is the name Joseph. In Québec, if a boy's first name was not Joseph, then he was christened Joseph. Roy is also a very common name. Hence Joseph Roy is akin to John Smith. In Ancestry.com Member Trees is a second marriage to a Mary Parker, and a death date of 13 July 1908. I found the Find-a-Grave record for the Joseph Roy who died on 13 July 1908, and it states his father was Augustine. Clearly a different Joseph. Also, in the 1880 Census, our Joseph was married to Ada. Adelaide easily becomes Ada, while Mary does not.
