| History | In 1069, Edgar joined Gospatric, the Earl of Northumberland, in his revolt against William. At the revolt's defeat, he fled to Scotland. Later he went to France, where he became the confidant of Duke Robert, the Conqueror's son. In 1198, he joined Duke Robert on the First Crusade. Later Henry I took him prisoner at Tinchebrai, and gave him an estate in England where he lived in obscurity. [2] | |
