    MRS. PHOEBE A. WOODMAN.

    The news of the death of Mrs. Phoebe A. Woodman of Brockton, formerly of Lewiston, reached here Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Woodman was the wife of Alvin Woodman, the agent. for the Lewiston •Machine Shop, who was boss mechanic at the Bates Mill a few years ago.

    Mrs. Woodman had been ill for over a year and three weeks ago her husband was called to Brockton where he remained until the end. Death came Saturday afternoon.

    Mrs. Woodman resided in Lewiston for a number of years, moving from here to Brockton five of six years ago, She had many friends here. She leaves besides her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Allen and Miss Lora Copeland of Brockton; tour brothers, Charles H. of Auburn; 0. N. Briggs of Lewiston; J. K. Briggs of Barkerville, and T. T. Briggs, Reading, Mass. Also a sister, Mrs. S. M. Washburn of Greene.

    The funeral will take place in Brockton Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The interment will be at that city, also, it is expected
