     Robert Andrew Travis was born on 17 September 1930 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.1,2,3 He was the son of Andrew Alphonse Travis and Mary Josephine Burke. Robert, age 9, appeared on the US Census of 1940 living at N Russell Street, Boston, Massachusetts,in the household of his parents, Andrew Alphonse and Mary Josephine Travis.1 He served as an SP3 in the US Army during the Korean War with the 507th Engineer Company.3 Robert Andrew Travis and Barbara Joan O'Leary filed marriage intentions on 30 July 1957 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire.2

Robert Andrew Travis, age 26, married Barbara Joan O'Leary, age 23 , daughter of Daniel Joseph O'Leary and Helen Mary Healy, on 4 August 1957 at the Christ Church Episcopal, Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.
