     William I von Weimar ~ Count in South Thuringia, in the Helme, and Altgaus, and of Weimar was the son of Meinwerk I ~ Count in Thuringia and Gerlint.

William I von Weimar ~ Count in South Thuringia, in the Helme, and Altgaus, and of Weimar married daughter of Poppo III, daughter of Poppo III ~ Count in the Grabfeld and the Bavarian Nordgau.1 In 939, he fought for Otto I at Birthen.1 In 953 joined his rebellious son, Liudorf. Later he regained Emperor Otto's favor.1 William I von Weimar ~ Count in South Thuringia, in the Helme, and Altgaus, and of Weimar died on 16 April 963.1
