     Catherine Glatz was born in April 1865 at Germany.2 She was the daughter of Anton Glatz and Madaline Hoffman.1 Catherine Glatz went by the nick-name of Kate. She immigrated in 1882 In 1882, she arrived in New York City, age 17, onboard the SS Belgenland, out of Antwerp, Belgium.3

Catherine Glatz married Adam Merdian, son of Conrad Merdian and Apollonia Wolff, in 1883.

Catherine, age 34 years, and Adam, age 40 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at 3 High Street, Etna, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.2 Catherine, age 44 years, and Adam, age 50 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at 104 Penn Street, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.5 Catherine, age 54 years, and Adam, age 60 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at 104 Penn Street, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.6 Catherine Glatz died on 4 November 1925 at Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at age 60 in diabetic coma.7,1 She was buried on 7 November 1925 at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.8,1
