     William Francis Geiger was born on 9 May 1848 at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Henry O. Geiger and Isabella McHenry. William Francis Geigerappeared on the US Census of 1850 in the household of Henry O. Geiger and Isabella McHenry at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.3 William Francis Geigerappeared on the US Census of 1860 in the household of Henry O. Geiger and Isabella McHenry at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.4 He was a private in the 121st Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry during the Civil War, having enlisted on 13 August 1862 when he was 14 years old.5,6,7

William Francis Geiger married Barbara A. Thomas, daughter of John Philip Thomas and Elizabeth Memoide, in 1870.1 William, age 21 years, and Barbara, age 21 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.8 According to the Federal Census in 1870, William was a farm laborer.8 Heappeared on the US Census of 1880 in the household of Henry O. Geiger at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.9 According to the Federal Census in 1880, William was a laborer.9 William, age 51 years, and Barbara, age 51 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1 According to the Federal Census in 1900, William was a farmer.1 William, age 61 years, and Barbara, age 61 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.10 According to the Federal Census in 1910, William was a house painter.10 William, age 71 years, and Barbara, age 71 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on Spring Street, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.11 According to the Federal Census in 1920, William was a brick layer.11 He died on 19 April 1926 at Mahoning, Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio, at age 77 while visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C J. Zeucher, of Lowellvllle, Ohio.12,13,14 William's obituary of 20 April 1926, reads:

The remains of William Francis Geiger, who died at 6 o'clock yesterday morning of infirmities caused by his advanced age, while visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C J. Zeucher, of Lowellvllle, O., arrived early this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Myers, of Spring street. Mr. Gieger would have been 78 years of age, had he lived until the ninth of next month. He had been in i1l health for the past six months, but his condition was not regarded as critical. During his lifetime he had been a bricklayer, a atone mason and a plaster. He is survived by the following children; Mrs. C J. Zuecher, of Lowellvllle, O; Mrs. IL J. Myers of Latrobe; Mrs. Joseph Myers, of Latrobe; ' Joseph E. Geiger, of Buffalo, N. Y; John Geiger, of Johnstown; and Charles Geiger, of Latrobe. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at o'clock at the Holy Family church. Interment will be made in St Vincent's cemetery.13


He was buried on 22 April 1926 at Saint Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.12,13
