Saint Theodora was born circa 815.1 She was the daughter of Theoktista Phlorina and Marinus.
Saint Theodora married Theophilos ~ Emperor of the East, son of Michael II ~ Emperor of the East and Euphrosyne, on 5 June 830. Theodora served between 842 and 856 as the regent for her son, Michael III.1 After her regency, she became a nun, and was later canonized.1 Saint Theodora died on 24 September 867.1
