     Balthild's name was also spelt Bathildis in Latin.1

Balthild married Clovis II , King of the Franks, son of Dagobert I ~ King of the Neustrian Franks and Nantilda, in 648.2,1,3 She became the regent for her son, Clotaire III in 657. In 664, he reached maturity, and she was forced into a convent.1 Balthild died in 680 at Chelles, Île-de-France, France.1 She was buried at Chelles Abbey, Chelles, Île-de-France, France.1
