     Antiochus VIII Philometer Grypus ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire was born in 143 BCE. He was the son of Demetrius II Nicator ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire and Cleopatra Thea. Grypus means "hook nose."1 Antiochus was crowned the Basileus of the Seleucid Empire in joint rule with his mother. In 121, he became the sole Basileus in 124 BCE.1

Antiochus VIII Philometer Grypus ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire married Cleopatra Tryphæna, daughter of Pharaoh Eurogates II and Cleopatra III.1 Antiochus VIII Philometer Grypus ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire died in 96 BCE.1
