Pharaoh Ptolemy V Epiphanes was born circa 210 BCE.1 He was the son of Pharaoh Ptolemy IV Philopator and Arsinoe III. Ptolemy was crowned the Pharaoh of Egypt in 205 BCE.1
Pharaoh Ptolemy V Epiphanes married Cleopatra I, daughter of Antiochus III Megas ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire and Laodice III. Their betrothal is recorded on the Rosetta Stone.1 During his reign, Syria, under Antiochus III, seized Palestine and threatened Egypt. Rome intervened saving Egypt.1 Pharaoh Ptolemy V Epiphanes was killed in 181 BCE by being poisoned by a member of his court.1
