Antiochus III Megas ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire was born in 242 BCE.1 He was the son of Seleucus II Callinius ~ Basileus of the Seleucid Empire and Laodice II. Antiochus was crowned the Basileus of the Seleucid Empire in 220 BCE.1 In 220 BCE, he suppressed the revolts in Media and Persia. Then he recovered Armenia and successfully invaded Parthia, Media, and Bactria between 21 and 205 BCE. He was defeated by the Rome at the Battle of Magnesia in 189 BCE.1
