     Pharaoh Ptolemy III Euergates was the son of Pharaoh Ptolemy II Philadelpios and Arsinoe II. Ptolemy was crowned the Pharaoh of Egypt in 246 BCE.1

Pharaoh Ptolemy III Euergates married Bernice II, daughter of Megas ~ King of Cyrene and Apama.1 He fought with Selucus II, King of Syria from 246 to 245 BCE. He invaded the Seleucid empire, captured Babylon and Susa. In 243, he was recalled to put down a revolt at home. For the next 20 years, he remained at peace patronizing the arts and adding books to the great library at Alexandria.1 Pharaoh Ptolemy III Euergates died in 221 BCE.1
