Mithradates I ~ King of Pontus was the son of Artiobarzanes. He was perhaps adopted by his uncle, Mithradates II, Setrap of Chios.1 In 302 BCE, he became the Setrap of Chios.1 Mithradates was crowned the King of Pontus in 281 BCE.1 He died in 266 BCE.1
