     Homer Carl Shirey was born on 14 February 1894 at Irwin, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Conrad Shirey and Martha A. Sheaarer. Homer Carl Shireyappeared on the US Census of 1900 in the household of Joseph Conrad Shirey and Martha A. Sheaarer at Five Points, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.2 Homer Carl Shireyappeared on the US Census of 1910 in the household of Joseph Conrad Shirey and Martha A. Sheaarer at Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.3 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Homer was a farmer.3

Homer married first, Mary E. LeRue. Green and Mary Jane Clark, in 1961.1 Homer Carl Shirey died on 11 January 1984 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at age 89.1,7 He was buried at Unity Cemetery, Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in section C.
