     Thomas Whelpley was born circa 1807 at Saint John, Queens County, New Brunswick, British North America.1 He was the son of William Whelpley and Mabel Thomas.

Thomas Whelpley married Mary Thomas, daughter of Daniel Thomas and Isabella Stanley, circa 1840.

Thomas Whelpley appeared as Head of Household with his wife Mary Whelpley, on the Canadian Census of 1851 at Saint John, Queens County, New Brunswick, British North America.2 According to the Canadian Census in 1851, Thomas was cooper.2 Thomas Whelpley appeared as Head of Household with Mary, his wife, on the United States Census of 1870 at Salem, Massachusetts.3 According to the Federal Census in 1870, Thomas was employed in a jute factory.3 He died on 16 April 1873 at Saint John, Saint John County, New Brunswick, Canada.1
