Eliza Isabel Whelpley

     Eliza Isabel Whelpley was born in 1825 at Saint John, Saint John County, New Brunswick, British North America.¹ She was the daughter of William Whelpley and Mabel Thomas. As of 19 March 1844,her married name was Hughes.

Eliza Isabel Whelpley married Jacob Hughes, son of John Charles Hughes and Susanna Margareta Paul, on 19 March 1844 at the Saint John, Saint John County, New Brunswick, Canada.



Eliza, age 36 years, and Jacob Hughes, age 38 years appeared on the Canadian Census of 1861 at Sussex, Kings County, New Brunswick, British North America.² Eliza, age 46 years, and Jacob Hughes, age 48 years appeared on the Canadian Census of 1871 at Portland, Saint John County, New Brunswick, Canada.³ Eliza Isabel Whelpley immigrated to the United States. Eliza died on 21 December 1907 at home on High Street, Randolph, Massachusetts.^4,5 Eliza was buried on 23 December 1907 at Central Cemetery, Randolph, Massachusetts.⁵
