Gravestone of Mehitable (Jewett) Wheeler
     Mehitable Jewett was born on 5 December 1730 at Bradford, Massachusetts.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Samuel Jewett and Ruth Hardy.1

Mehitable Jewett, age 20, married Peter Wheeler, age 21 , son of Peter Wheeler and Hannah Colburn, on 19 March 1751 at Hollis, New Hampshire.1,4,5,6,7 Mehitable Jewett was mentioned in the will of Samuel Jewett on 18 July 1752 at Hollis, New Hampshire.8 Mehitable and Petermoved to Temple, New Hampshire. towards the end of their life.1 Mehitable Jewett died on 14 April 1802 at Temple, New Hampshire, at age 71.2 She was buried at Alstead Center Cemetery, Alstead, New Hampshire. Mehitable's epitaph reads:
