     Jean Godin was born on 28 September 1808 at Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada.1 He was the son of Pierre Godin and Geneviève-Henriette Thériault.1

She was born 8 January 1827 in Petit-Rocher, New Brunswick, Canada, and died in 1856.5,1,2 Jean, age 62 years, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1871 at New Bandon, New Brunswick, Canada.6 According to the Canadian Census in 1871, Jean was a widower, living with his son, Eugene and his family.6
