Anne Poirier was born circa 21 October 1733 at Beaubassin, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Poirier and Jeanne Gaudet.1 In the 1752 Census, Anne was recorded, age 18, living in the household of Joseph Poirier and Jeanne Gaudet at Port-Toulouse, Île Royale (now Cape Breton), Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America; They have been in the colony two years and have been granted rations for that time.1
Anne Poirier married Jean-François Arseneau, son of Pierre Arsenault and Marguerite Cormier, circa 1760 at Madawaska, Colony of Nova Scotia (now New Brunswick).
