     Ensign Moses Sweat was born on 28 March 1740 at Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.1,2,3 He was the son of John Sweat and Judith Young.3 He was possibly the "cordwainer" who bought land in Chester, New Hampshire on 11 April 1763, and sold it in 1765.3 Moses and Priscilla Hatch filed marriage intentions on 30 January 1770 at Wells, York County, Maine.1

He was an Ensign during the Revolution.3 Ensign Moses Sweat died at Granby, Québec, Canada, at the home of his son, John.3 Moses and Priscillamoved to Tuftonsboro, Carroll County, New Hampshire, on 12 December 1808.3
