     Private Samuel Webb Flanders was born on 13 October 1812 at Cornville, Maine.1,2,3 He was the son of Moses Flanders and Roxana Webb.1 Private Samuel Webb Flanders and Cynthia McClure filed marriage intentions on 1 April 1838 at Cornville, Maine.1

Private Samuel Webb Flanders, age 25, married Cynthia McClure, age 23 , daughter of Andrew McClure and Mehitable Marsh, in April 1838.

He enlisted, on 21 Augsut 1862, in Capt. Whiting S. Clark's Company E, Col. Danield Chaplin's First Regiment Heavy Artillery, Maine Volunteers.1 Private Samuel Webb Flanders died on 15 June 1864 at Washington, District of Columbia, at age 51 from wounds received at the Battle of Fredericksburg Pike.1,4 He was buried at Shirley Cemetery, Shirley Mills, Maine.1,4
