Mary Pond was born on 8 November 1748 at Roxbury, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Joshua Pond and Jane Ball. Mary Pond was christened on 13 November 1748 at Roxbury, Massachusetts. She and Jonathan Ward filed marriage intentions on 20 September 1772 at Newton, Massachusetts.
Mary Pond, age 23, married Jonathan Ward, age 23 , son of Timothy Ward and Margaret Woodward, on 4 October 1772 at Newton, Massachusetts.
Mary and Jonathan joined the Church at Dedham, Massachusetts, on 25 January 1773. Mary and Jonathanmoved to Athol, Massachusetts, in 1774. They settled in that part of Athol, which became Orange. Mary Pond died on 6 July 1777 at Athol, Massachusetts, at age 28. She was buried at North Orange Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts. Mary's epitaph reads:
