     Elizabeth Mayo was born on 9 March 1760 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.1,2 She was the daughter of Major Joseph Mayo and Esther Kenrick.1 Elizabeth Mayo and Wilder Stevens filed marriage intentions on 10 October 1778 at Warwick, Massachusetts.1

Elizabeth Mayo married Wilder Stevens, son of Nathaniel Stevens and Mary Martin, in 1778 at Warwick, Massachusetts.

From the book, Home by Anna Leland, her daughter, comes this description: "[she] was a woman of beautiful character and highly regarded in Warwick."1 Elizabeth Mayo died on 5 May 1793 at Warwick, Massachusetts, at age 33.1 She was buried at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Massachusetts. Elizabeth's epitaph reads:

In Memory of Mrs. Elizabeth,
The Late Amiable Consort of
Mr. Wilder Stevens
Who Died in Childbed
With her Infant Babe
May 5, 1793
Desirable in life and lamented in death.3
