     Wales Cheney was born on 31 August 1732 at Mendon, Massachusetts.1,2,3 He was the son of William Cheney and Joanna Thayer.

Wales Cheney, age 24, married Sarah Whitney, age 20 , daughter of Jonathan Whitney and Lydia Jones, on 10 November 1756 at Mendon, Massachusetts.
