     Henry Wilkins was born in 1836.1 He was the son of Henry Samuel Wilkins and Mary Baker.1 Henry Wilkinsappeared on the US Census of 1850 in the household of Henry Samuel Wilkins and Mary Baker at Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.2

Henry Wilkins married Catharine Stairs, daughter of Samuel Stairs and Elizabeth Dorse, in 1858.1 Henry, age 24 years, and Catharine, age 18 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.3 According to the Federal Census in 1860, Henry was a farm laborer.3 He joined as a private the the 21st Pennsylvania Regiment, Company I on 1 September 1864. He was captured and imprisoned in the Bermuda Hundred, Virginia.4,5 He died on 25 January 1865 at Prison Camp, Bermuda Hundred, Virginia.4,6 He was buried at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina.4
