     William Clements was born in 1640 at England.2,3 He was the son of Gregory Clements.2 On 2 April 1674, William sold two acres of land in Stamford to Nicholas Webster. The deed was recorded on13 September 1684.4 William lived in 1675 at Stamford, Connecticut.5 In 1677 he is given a house lot if he and his "do forever maintain all the town fence lying by the two Northfield gates, and for security the above land shall be bound forever."6

William Clements married Elizabeth Brown, daughter of William Brown and Elizabeth Murford, before 1678 at Stamford, Connecticut.7,2,4 On 17 April 1701, William and Elizabeth together signed a deed, selling to acres of land to David Waterbury of Stamford. Elizabeth signed the deed by making her mark. On the same day, David Waterbury sold some upland to William Clements.4 William Clements died in November 1702 at Stamford, Connecticut.2,3,4 His estate was inventoried on 11 November 1702 at Stamford, Connecticut, valued at £58, including a home lot and two parcels of land.4 He was buried at Stamford Burying Ground, Stamford, Connecticut.3 His estate was probated on 9 December 1702 at Hartford County, Connecticut.8
