     Josiah Ingersoll was born on 3 May 1718 at Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York.2,3 He was the son of John Ingersoll and Martha Elizabeth Briggs.2

Josiah Ingersoll, age 24, married Rebecca Rundle, age 23 , daughter of Samuel Rundle and Hannah Hardy, on 16 June 1742 at Greenwich, Connecticut, by the Rev. Mr. Todd.2,4,5 He sold land in Greenwich.2

Josiah Ingersoll, age 37, married Eleanor Moe, daughter of John Moe and Mary Howe Mead, on 4 May 1755.2 In 1767, he leased a farm in Cortland Manor, New York.2 He was a private in Lt-Col Benedict's Westchester County Militia Associated Exempts during the Revolution.2 Josiah Ingersoll died on 27 November 1806 at Yorktown, Westchester County, New York, at age 88.3
