     Lt. Ebenezer Morris was born on 14 April 1664 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.1,3,4,5,6 He was the son of Lt. Edward Morris and Grace Bett.2,1 Lt. Ebenezer Morris was christened on 17 April 1664 at Roxbury, Massachusetts, by the Apostle Eliot.1 Ebenezermoved to New Roxbury, now Woodstock, Massachusetts, in 1686. as one of 13 pioneers settling a new town.1 In the division of land he drew lot No. 7, on the west side of "Plaine Hill," and lot No. 4, in the meadow land.1

Lt. Ebenezer Morris, age 28, married Sarah Davis, daughter of Joseph Davis and Sarah Chamberlain, on 1 September 1692 at Woodstock, Massachusetts, by Captain Sewell.1,7,8,6 A record of March 2, 1701-2, says he was "appointed to look after the meeting-house, and keep it clean for the benefit of the town," —a duty which, after his death, seems to have been performed by his widow, as on Jan. 4, 1720-1, the town voted " 8 shillings to Widow Morris for looking after the meeting-house.1" In 1703, with his brother, Edward, he was elected a selectman of Woodstock. He served again in 1705, 1706, 1707, 1709, 1712, 1713, 1715, and 1716.1 Lt. Ebenezer Morris died on 26 February 1717/18 at Woodstock, Massachusetts, at age 53.1,9,10,5,6 He was buried on 6 March 1718 at Woodstock Hill Cemetery, Woodstock, Connecticut. He was buried in Woodstock Massachusetts, but in 1749, it became part of Windham County, Connecticut.10 His estate was inventoried at Woodstock, Massachusetts, and valued at £605 16/5.1
