     Gerald Joseph Chiasson was born on 23 November 1927 at Athol, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of John Chiasson and Josephine Chiasson. Gerald, age 2, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 21 Main Court, Athol, Massachusetts,in the household of his parents, John and Josephine Chiasson.6 On on 23 November 1945, Gerald registered for the World War II draft, while living at 115 Harrington Stree, Athol, Massachusetts, giving his age as 18, and his employer as the Athol Table Manufacturing Company.7 Gerald, age 22, appeared on the US Census of 1950 living at 115 Harrington Stree, Athol, Massachusetts,in the household of his parents, John and Josephine Chiasson.8 According to the Federal Census in 1950, Gerald was a wood furniture worker.8 From 1950 to 1952, he served in the U.S. Army.

Gerald Joseph Chiasson, age 25, married Mary Angelina Boudreau, age 27 , daughter of Camille Boudreau and Marie Rose Bibianne Légère, on 23 May 1953 at the Our Lady Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, Athol, Massachusetts. They were married by Monsignor Francis J. Warburton.

Gerald Joseph Chiasson was retired in 1990 from Erving Paper Mills, Erving, Massachusetts. When he retired, he was living in Athol, Massachusetts.2 He died on 11 December 2010 at Athol, Massachusetts, at age 83.3,4,5 Gerald's obituary of 13 December 2010, reads:

ATHOL -- Gerald J. " Tommy" Chiasson, 83, of 27 Smith St., died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Athol, Nov. 23, 1927, the son of the late John and Josephine (Chiasson) Chiasson.

He has lived in Athol all of his life, attending Athol schools and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He worked at the Erving Paper Mill for many years until his retirement.

He was also a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Angelina M. (Boudreau) Chiasson; two daughters, Carol A. Dancause and her husband John of Lunenburg and Paula M. Benski and her husband Don of St. Louis, MO; a son, Douglas J. Chiasson and his wife Linda of Athol and a brother, John Chiasson and his wife Marilyn of Fitchburg. He also leaves four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six sisters, Lillian Robichaud, Rosemond Varoli, Hermance Laughton, Theresa Denney, Geraldine Baker and Joanne Chiasson and a brother, Sylvain Duguay.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15, at noon at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol (those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church).

There are no calling hours and burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Athol Area United Way, 545 Main St. , Athol, Mass. 01331. Higgins-O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol is directing arrangements.
