     Joseph Gaudet dit Chaculot was born circa 1740 at Tintamarre (near Beaubassin), Colony of Nova Scotia.2 He was the son of Augustin Gaudet and Agnès Chiasson.2

Joseph Gaudet dit Chaculot married Marie-Blanch Bourg, age 17 , daughter of Michel Bourg dit Michaud and Marguerite-Josèphe Bourgeois, on 12 August 1763 at Beauséjour, Colony of Nova Scotia.
