     Jean-Baptiste Chiasson was born circa 1727 at Beaubassin, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America.1 He was the son of François Chiasson and Anne Doucet.

Jean-Baptiste Chiasson married Louise-Marguerite Prétieux, daughter of Joseph Prétieux and Anne Haché, circa 1752 at Acadia, New France.1 In the 1752 Census, Jean-Baptiste was recorded, age 25, living in the household of François Chiasson and Anne Doucet at Anse-aux-Sauvages, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France; François Chiasson, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 60 years, he has been 25 years in the country. Married to Anne Dousset, native of l'Acadie, aged 48 years.

Jean-Baptiste Chiasson married Marguerite-Josèphe Dugas, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Dugas and Marguerite Benoit, on 30 June 1761 at Saint-Méloir-des-Ondes, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France.

Jean-Baptiste Chiasson married Anne-Perrine Joanne, daughter of Jacques Joanne and Perrine Charpentier, on 10 January 1769 at Saint-Servan, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France.

Jean-Baptiste Chiasson died on 26 July 1789 at Donaldsonville, Ascension Parish, Louisiana, New Spain.1
